Le Chocolat de H

Directed by Takashi Watanabe

This movie follows Hironobu Tsujiguchi—a world famous pastry chef from Japan—as he journeys around the world in search of ingredients to complete his new chocolate recipes.

A five-time winner of Best Chocolate in the World at the Salon du Chocolat competition, Tsujiguchi decides to create unique recipes that combine traditional flavors found in Japanese fermented foods with chocolate made from fermented cacao beans. As the filmmakers document Tsujiguchi on his quest for perfection—from miso producers and sea salt purveyors in rural Japan to organic cacao farms in Ecuador—they also reveal a portrait of a complex individual driven by a passion for his craft.
